Hematite jewelry?

I have bought a magnetic hematite bracelet and now I am trying to find more info about the stone. It is a bit difficult to find an answer on line. If hematite is artificially magnetized (as far as I understood) and in nature it is not magnetic or has very weak magnetic property, for how long will the magnetism last? It cannot last forever. Unfortunately I didn’t ask the seller at the time. Anybody knows?

The magnetism won’t go away unless, as the other writer said, you drop it, heat it, or run it through a demagnetizer. One way to think about it is that the process of magentization aligns the iron particles in the stone so that they are oriented the same direction (with their individual north south poles lined up). It isn’t like charging a battery. Unless something happens to scramble the particles back up, the magnetization will stay.
